about
what is reiki?
REI
“Rei” can be translated as meaning “universal” - it is everywhere. Some people think of it as divine wisdom, spirit, or God.
KI
“Ki” in Japanese is like “qi” in Chinese or “prana” in Sanskrit, meaning the everlasting life force energy found in all living things.
REI + KI
“Reiki” is a special type of Ki, spiritually guided life force energy. The Reiki practitioner can be thought of as a vessel, conduit, or guide who helps the energy go where it’s needed for health and wellbeing.
what happens?
Sessions happen in a quiet, comfortable space. You stay fully clothed and lay down on your back on a massage table, or you can sit in a chair. You can choose whether to have light background music or if you want to wear an eye mask.
Reiki is usually done through light touch, with hands placed near the body’s chakras (or “energy centers”). However, Reiki can also be sent without touching, if that’s more comfortable.
Usually, clients experience relaxation and stress relief during a session, as energy flow within the body improves.

Meet Elizabeth
(but, please, call me Lizzie!
all my friends do)
I discovered the power of Reiki the way a lot of people do: I heard positive things from a friend, so I decided to try it you. And I’m so grateful I did!
I had worked hard in therapy on my mental health, but I understood - based on research and based on being in my own body - that trauma gets stored physically, too.
It’s not all in your head.
Personally, receiving Reiki from a practitioner has done so much to help me release old energy and find balance. I want to help more people to experience that healing.
I received my certification in Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki I & II in October 2024.
